Moshi Wins Three Coveted Red Dot Product Design Awards
Apr 9, 2018
Essen, Germany – Apr 9, 2018 – International design house, Moshi, has cemented its reputation for excellent design and innovation by being awarded three Product Design awards in the 2018 Red Dot Design Competition. Moshi’s Avanti Air wireless on-ear headphones, IonBank 3K portable battery and IonBank 5K portable battery were all recognized in Germany’s most renowned design competition.
Since 1955, the Red Dot Awards have been recognized as the world’s biggest and most respected product design competition. An international jury of experts assesses each nominated product based on its originality, design quality, effectiveness and emotional quality. The winning products are displayed in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany as part of the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design.
“I’ve been following the Red Dot Awards since way back when I was an industrial design student in university,” said Anthony Chen, Chief Designer at Moshi. “They’re a source of inspiration for so many designers around the world, so for Moshi to be recognized by this year’s panel is an exceptional honor.”
Here are Moshi’s Red Dot winners:
Avanti Air Bluetooth Headphones - Designed with Ergonomics in Mind
As the world’s first stainless steel curved headband, Avanti Air’s earcups are expertly angled at 14-degrees for ergonomics and comfort. This unique design offers better noise-isolation and accommodates a wide range of head and ear sizes (5th to the 99th percentile of the human population).
When designing a portable battery, the question is not about capacity but convenience. Each battery in the IonBank Series features integrated Lightning and USB connectors; no extra cables are needed. While, SmartSense™ circuitry charges the phone first and then powers up the portable battery.
IonBank 3K (3,200 mAh) features a magnetic vegan leather cover that opens to reveal the battery’s Lightning and USB connectors. It is modeled after the key fob of a luxury car and provides an extra recharge for an iPhone.
IonBank 5K (5,150 mAh) is crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum with a stylish vegan leather door to keep the connectors hidden when not in use. Its slim form factor lets it slip into a jacket pocket and it also includes an extra USB port to help share power with a friend who needs a boost.
