Moshi Announces 4K/60 Product Series Supporting Ultra HD Resolutions

San Francisco, Calif. - Feb. 17, 2016 - Accessories designer Moshi today introduced its next-generation 4K/60 Series, a product series supporting Ultra HD (4K) resolutions with a 60Hz refresh rate. The first products in Moshi's 4K/60 Series include the company's USB-C to HDMI Adapter and Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable.

The USB-C to HDMI Adapter enables 4K-compatible USB-C devices to output at an ultra-high-definition resolution up to 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz. While most 4K devices only support 30Hz, Moshi's USB-C to HDMI Adapter follows the newest spec giving it a future-proof advantage as more 4K devices with 60Hz refresh rates begin to appear on the market. The adapter features a reversible USB-C connector and is compatible with Apple's Retina MacBook (2015), which supports 4K output at 30Hz.

The second addition to the 4K/60 Series is Moshi's new Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable, which is 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length and supports the DisplayPort 1.2 standard. While HDMI 2.0 monitors supporting 4K/60Hz are slow to arrive, the more-established Display 1.2 protocol is featured on many 4K/60Hz DisplayPort monitors that are readily available for purchase. When paired together with a Mac that supports DisplayPort 1.2, this Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable is especially useful for content creators like graphic artists and video editors who require high-resolution workspaces, as well as power users such as gamers. Both new 4K/60 products feature advanced converter chips that produce smooth, blur-free video at 60Hz, which is double the rate of most 4K accessories currently available. The ends of the new adapter and cable are encased in anodized aluminum to minimize electromagnetic interference for clear picture quality.

Moshi's USB-C to HDMI Adapter will retail at $40 while the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable will retail at $25.
